Google Drive V4.1 for iOS released 9/2/15 has resolved this issue. Thanks for insights and workarounds.

aescrypt iphone app fails after ios 8 update
aescrypt fails with Google Drive and OneDrive after ios 8 update on iphone 5. When aescrypt selected with "open in another app", a download status shows, then a blank page, then back to the home screen. Never get prompted for password. Same procedure worked great prior to installing ios 8....
