Portable, windows 32 bits, does not open or start.

Post by madara-32 »

Hi, I've been using the program for some time almost always in linux environments, but also in windows (gui), I need to use the portable version in 32 bits windows environments, but when I download it and try to start it it doesn't work, it shows a CMD screen that closes quickly... I have given it permissions, but it still doesn't work... while the GUI version does...

There are two windows executables you will find after installing:
1) aescrypt.exe
2) aescrrypt32.exe

The first one is what you want if you are using the command-line. The second is only used when you double-click on a file with the file extension .aes. Don't try to run that directly, since it's not intended to be run directly.

On Windows, you can either run (1) from within the command prompt window OR you can right-click on a file in Explorer and select "AES Encrypt" or "AES Decrypt" (as appropriate).
