I have installed AES as per instructions. Every-time I try to open the program I get " Invalid arguments, a single filename is required ". Is there a fix for this?

There is a bug in the script on Linux that handles the GUI requests when there are spaces in the pathname. There is a fix, but it has not been incorporated with the distribution.

Until a new package is created, you can manually replace the aescript-gui script with the one from the git repository: https://github.com/paulej/AESCrypt/blob ... scrypt-gui
