Problem installing AESCrypt

Post by Sinbad » Tue Dec 30, 2014 9:11 am

I am trying to install the file AESCrypt-GUI-1.0-Linux-x86-Install and am having issues.

At the command line in the directory this file is in, I have typed (after signing in as root):

paul-mint-X61 AESCrypt # ./AESCrypt-GUI-1.0-Linux-x86-Install
-su: ./AESCrypt-GUI-1.0-Linux-x86-Install: Permission deniedd

What have I done wrong?

BTW, I'm a novice at linux!
I'm running:
LinuxMint Release 13 (maya) 32-bit
Kernel Linux 3.2.0.23-generic
GNOME 3.4.2

Thanks
Paul

Did you check to ensure the permissions on the file allow execution? Do a chmod 755 on the file.
