Hi !
I have Linux Fedora 23 with KDE Plasma 5. I install AES Crypt with the packet "GUI-3.10-Linux-x86_64-Install.tgz". When I want encrypt a file, with GUI or command-line, I have this message : Error in iconv_open: Invalid argument.
Everyone can help me to resolve this issue ?
Thanks !

Error in iconv_open: Invalid argument
Re: Error in iconv_open: Invalid argument
I am also running AESCrypt on Arch Linux with Plasma 5, and I see the same problem. Could we get this issue looked at? Do I just need to bulid it from source?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Actually, scratch my last post. Installing the package from the AUR works.

Re: Error in iconv_open: Invalid argument
There's a problem with the GUI version of AES Crypt on Linux. I'll need to investigate that.
There is also a problem with the command-line version when using non-ASCII characters.
Both used to work. Now they don't. Looks like something in Linux changed related to iconv*(), because the AES Crypt code hasn't changed in quite a while, particularly in the character conversion code.

Re: Error in iconv_open: Invalid argument
This should be addressed with the 3.11 release for Linux. Give it a try and let me know if you still see issues.
Re: Error in iconv_open: Invalid argument
This error still exists in version 3.11 with Linux. Are there any work arounds?

Re: Error in iconv_open: Invalid argument
You're seeing an "iconv_open: invalid argument" error? If so, what version of Linux are you using? I'll try to install the exact same release and reproduce the problem.rhosea1 wrote:This error still exists in version 3.11 with Linux. Are there any work arounds?
Also, are you using the GUI or command-line version?
What steps are you following where you see this error?
