AESCrypt for High Sierra (64-bit MacOS)?

Post by PeBe »

Preparing for High Sierra: I see AESCrypt is still 32 bit. When will a 64 bit version available? (High Sierra no longer supports 32 bit)

Need a volunteer to rebuild a 64-bit image, apparently.

I've asked the guy who built the Mac package before.

In the interim, will this work to force Mac to run AES Crypt in 32-bit mode?

Unfortunately the "open in 32-bit" option doesn't show up on my version of OSX (10.13.6). Is there any chance of anyone being able to build this for 64-bit? Unfortunately I don't have a personal OSX box and doing it on a work machine here would likely be frowned upon by the legal dept...

Not yet. I'll try once more to recruit someone.

Hi,
I am just migrating to a new Mac. So it would be really great to have the 64 bit version.
(If it is just a simple rebuild I can try to help maybe. Although, formerly I have compiled programs only under Linux... :) )

Since I don't have a Mac, I'm not sure exactly what's involved, but it's almost just a rebuild. You could easily compile the binary as 64 bit and just replace the 32 bit one installed. But, for the rest of the users we'd need a new package file.

Just to make complete the discussion. New 64-bit packages are available at www.aescrypt.com.

Much appreciated zlk, but unfortunately even that will not open on High Sierra. I'm still getting the same "MacOS error: -67072" from taskgated. Are you able to run it on HS?

antch,

Yes, it works for me on HS! Can you provide some more info what you do exactly?
Don't you get a message that: "AESCrypt" can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer?
