AES Crypt will not open on Mac OS 10.14.5

I have installed AES Crypt 64bit Version 3.14.1 on my iMac Retinia 5K OS 10.14.5. When I attempt to open the app, either by clicking on the app in the Applications folder or on the dock-mounted app icon, the app will not open.
Any suggestions?

For the GUI on Mac, you place the icon on the dock and drag files into it. It should then prompt you for a password. This works the same when encrypting or decrypting.

Does the drag and drop method work for encrypting large files or are there size limitations with AES crypt on macos 10.14.5?

Yes, any since will work. The latest version for Mac shows a progress indicator, if you want to give that a try. It gives a little more comfort to those wondering if it's working.
