AES Crypt for 64-Bit Windows on ARM

Post by paulej »

Terrapane is pleased to announce the official release of AES Crypt built natively for 64-bit ARM-based Windows computers.

In recent years, Microsoft has expanded its commitment to Windows on ARM, with major hardware manufacturers adopting Snapdragon processors and, as announced this week, new PCs powered by NVIDIA Grace CPUs.

Over the past few months, we noticed that roughly 10% of AES Crypt for Windows downloads were coming from users running ARM hardware. While AES Crypt 4.7 for x64 processors runs on these devices, it relied on x64-to-ARM64 instruction translation, which introduced unnecessary performance overhead.

Our new native ARM64 build delivers full encryption and decryption speeds without translation delay. Going forward, Terrapane will continue to maintain and offer native builds for both x64 and ARM64 Windows platforms.

You can download the new ARM64 installer today on our website (https://www.aescrypt.com/download/).
