new user AESCrypt_v308c_x86.pkg

Hi
I downloaded what I thought was the latest version of the GUI mac version X86. The installer package installs a "Contents" folder in applications on my mac, but there isn't an aescrypt.app. Double-clicking the aescrypt unix executable in the MacOS subdirectory launches terminal and runs the app without arguments and then closes:
usage: aescrypt {-e|-d} [ { -p <password> | -k <keyfile> } ] { [-o <output filename>] <file> | <file> [<file> ...] }
So, is there, in fact, a Mac OS X X86 GUI version of this app available? Did I miss something?
I am using SL 10.6.8.
Thanks.

The Mac and Linux GUI version of AES Crypt is actually a script that wraps the aescrypt binary. However, you should not see a terminal window. If you put AES Crypt on the dock as shown in the user's guide, you just drag files to be encrypted or decrypted onto the lock icon.

Running the latest OS X GUI version creates the following under Applications. There does to appear to be an .app file. From earlier entry I need to drag "AES Crypt on the dock", does this mean Contents>MaxOS>aescrypt? Unclear how I drag a non-app file to dock.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Same problem, basically it doesn't install properly, certainly on Mac OS X (10.8.3). Just creates a normal folder without the '.app' extension and "Package Contents" are on show by default ---> (233,542 bytes (270 KB on disk) for 14 items)

I think there is an issue with the way the software is packaged. I replaced the link with the link to the previous version. We'll re-package the updated code and re-post it later.
