Win7 64bit install trouble

Post by yellowpike »

Hey Gang:
Win7 Ultimate 64 bit AES Crypt installed but I do not have "AES Encrypt" as a choice in right click drop down menu.
Tried repair/Uninstall/Re-install nada

Thoughts?

Assuming you installed the 64-bit version of AES Crypt, I'm really not sure what the problem might be. I'm running Win7 64-bit now and I have no problem.

The only thing I can suggest is uninstalling, rebooting, re-installing (by executing the .msi program), and then right-clicking on an ordinary file on your desktop or somewhere to see if you get the "AES Encrypt" menu option.

Note that AES Crypt does not operate on directories, just ordinary files.

Thank You for the fast response!
Yes I did indeed install the 64 bit version. Perhaps it is a setting in Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 ?
I will explore this and perhaps other possible causes and post back.

Cheers,

Perhaps your machine does not have the right CLR libraries installed. I think the setup.exe file will install those and then call the .msi file. You mght want to run setup.exe instead of the .msi. As I understand, that will install the required dependencies.
